Abstract

The crystalline and magnetic microstructures and the morphological features of B-FeF3 3H2O, HTB-FeF30.33H2O, and r-FeF3 iron fluorides hydrothermally synthesized and annealed in the argon atmosphere have been studied. The dehydration process of plate-like B-FeF33H2O particles is studied in detail, and the model for corresponding structural modifications is proposed. The developed model is used to synthesize ultradispersed HTB-FeF30.33H2O and r-FeF3 materials. The r-FeF3 phase is found to be partially in the superparamagnetic state, with the particle size being comparable with the average size of coherent scattering regions.
