Abstract

The nucleon density distributions and the nuclear interaction potentials for the 18O + 58Ni and 18O + 60Ni reactions have been calculated using the modified Thomas–Fermi method and taking into account all second-order terms in ħ in the quasi-classical expansion of the kinetic energy. Skyrme forces, depending on the nucleon density, were used as the nucleon-nucleon interaction. An analytical parameterization has been proposed that reproduces well the behavior of the nucleus-nucleus interaction potentials calculated using the modified Thomas–Fermi method with density-dependent Skyrme forces. Using the obtained potentials, the elastic scattering cross-sections have been calculated, yielding good agreement with experimental results.
