Interaction reactions of basal, pyramidal, and prismatic dislocations with twinning dislocations in hcp crystals have been considered. The corresponding information is necessary for evaluating the phenomenological parameters of the mathematical model for the development of single twin layers. The density of gliding dislocations (“forest” dislocations) of each type in the vicinity of twin boundaries determines the nature of dislocation reactions at twin boundaries and, in essence, the development of twins. All possible interactions between twinning and forest dislocations in hcp crystals have been analyzed. The results are presented in a form that is convenient for further analysis of the development of twin layers under various loading conditions.
